To help evaluate how Hayes Graphics can best serve you, below are our material submission guidelines. Contact us if have any questions or special needs.
Formatting Your Files
Adobe is our preferred file format. For best results in larger-format materials, artwork should be provided in Vector format.
Software: Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXPress, InDesign. MS Office software is not suitable for large format printing. Quality and color results from artwork created using MS Office or other unlisted applications may be unsuitable. Please check before submitting your artwork.
You may supply files on the following media: CD, DVD-R/W, USB or via FTP (call for information to access site).
Set-up files at full size where software permits, or no smaller than 25% of the final output size. Make sure reduced sizes are proportionate.
Include all linked graphics (logos, photos, other images) Do not embed files in Illustrator layouts; save layouts as “Adobe Illustrator (.ai)” format, link pictures as CMYK Tiff files, supplied separately. Scan to match final output size. Resolution must be at least 75 dpi at its final printed size, eg. 75dpi at 100%, 150 dpi at 50%, 300 dpi at 25% of the final size.
Supply entire Postscript font suitcase, this includes printer and screen fonts. Avoid True Type and Mac System fonts. Or you may convert all text to outlines in Illustrator files provided.
If color matching is needed, specify a PMS color or supply a sample swatch. Color correction of Raster images (Photoshop) may incur an additional charge.
